Map Overlays

The handheld and wearable Apps can display GeoJson or KML overlays (e.g. tracks, routes or waypoints) . Overlays are loaded from a file, or the web, on the handheld and may be copied to the wearable. On the wearable turn any overlays on and off from the main screen Overlays button. Here are some links for a sample GeoJson Track and some GeoJson Waypoints .

As with the base maps, when connected by Bluetooth, overlay files can be pushed to the watch from the handheld. Overlays are normally much smaller than base map archives, so copying should be quick. Progress of the upload will be shown on both devices. When pushing from the phone, only the first paired wearable will be uploaded to.

Overlays can be deleted from the wearable using a long hold on the overlay name, or using the handheld App.

Overlays will use any embedded styles for points, lines and polygons. If the styles reference online icon resources, then clearly those will only work when there is an internet connection. Both the handheld and wearable app have settings options for the default styling of points lines and polygons which will be used if styling is absent.
